Animal Care and Regulation Appeal

In accordance with Wasilla Municipal Code (WMC) 7.08.020, a hearing officer has appellate jurisdiction over the determination of animals classified as Level 1, 2, 3, or 4 by the Chief Animal Care and Regulation Officer, related written administrative orders, and animals forfeited pursuant to WMC 7.04.100.C.1 or 7.20.040.E.

The hearing officer has original jurisdiction over the determination of animals recommended for classification as Level 5 by the Chief Animal Care and Regulation Officer.

Those persons wishing to appeal the decision of the Chief Animal Care and Regulation Officer may do so within five business days of the date the animal owner is served with the Chief Animal Care and Regulation Officer’s animal classification or written administrative order.  The request for a hearing shall be in writing and filed with the Office of the City Clerk.
