Committees formed for a special purpose are established through the adoption of an ordinance or resolution.

These committees are established for a limited duration with membership composition and duties outlined in the legislation that established the committee. Terms of appointment shall expire upon the completion of the special purpose in which the committee was formed, but shall not exceed three-years.

Meetings of all special purpose committees are open to the public. Special purpose committees are subject to the provisions of Chapter 2.44, unless otherwise provided for in the legislation that formed the committee.

Currently, there no special purpose committees.
