Municipal Airport
In accordance with Federal Aviation Administration requirements, the City of Wasilla has established an overall 3-year (FFY 2023-2025) goal of 9.6% of federal dollars on FAA-funded contracts will be expended on Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) through race-neutral means. The City of Wasilla is a community of over 9,456 residents which serves as the commercial center for the 110,600 residents of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. Wasilla is located 27 air miles (and 44 road miles) from Anchorage.
In 1993, the airport was relocated to a site approximately 8 minutes from the center of town.
