In 2022 the Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded the City of Wasilla a grant for the development of a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).

What is a CEDS?

A Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, or CEDS, is an economic development planning tool that combines the input of community leaders, private and public industry leaders, and local government to guide economic prosperity. A successful CEDS includes participation from a wide variety of people, businesses, and organizations to ensure balanced input that will identify Wasilla’s strengths and weaknesses. Using the input collected, the CEDS identifies locally based economic development strategies to improve economic outcomes and the overall quality of life for everyone in Wasilla.
