Application, Instructions, and Deadline - Plan Ahead - Apply Early

  • Download the 2025 Absentee By-Mail Ballot Application and Instructions. (coming in January 2025)
  • To vote by mail, qualified voters of the City must annually complete and return an Absentee By-Mail Ballot Application.
  • Carefully read the instructions that accompany the ballot application.
  • For the 2025 regular election, completed Absentee By-Mail Ballot applications are due to the Clerk's Office by September 30, 2025, 5:00 p.m., Alaska time.
  • Failure to return the application by the deadline will prevent you from voting by-mail.

Ballot Receipt - What to Expect

  • Approximately 15 days before Election Day, an official ballot package will be mailed to the applicant at the ballot mailing address on the application. If no address is provided, the ballot package will be mailed to the voter’s permanent mailing address on file with the Alaska Division of Elections. 
  • When the ballot package is received, the voter must carefully follow the instructions and return the ballot as directed. 
  • To ensure your ballot is counted:
    • Mail the ballot envelope so that it is postmarked on or before Election Day, Tuesday, October 7, 2025. It must be received by the City of Wasilla no later than Friday, October 10, 2025.
    • Alternatively, you can drop the ballot envelope in the secure Drop Box at City Hall, located at 290 E Herning Avenue, by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, October 7, 2025. You can also deliver it to any City polling place between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
