Rules & Regulations for Computer Use

 

 

Wasilla Public Library has twenty computers which have Internet access as well as Microsoft Word and Excel installed. Additionally, the Library provides free wireless access.

Authorized Use: Any person may use the patron computers for two hours a day. If a computer is unavailable, a reservation may be made. A person who is more than five minutes late for their reserved time forfeits their spot. Reservations are available for the current day only. Reservations may be made over the phone for library card holders. Otherwise, reservations must be made in person.

The wireless network and the patron computers are shut down five (5) minutes prior to closing.

People may not use personal software or alter/attach any equipment to the library’s hardware.

Staff Assistance
Staff provides limited assistance for basic start up procedures. In regards to the wireless network, staff is not able to provide technical assistance. You are responsible for knowing how to configure your own equipment.


Time Limits
There is a two-hour time limit per person, per day for use of public computers.

Printing
Printing is available from the public computers. There is a charge of 15 cents per page printed. We do not offer printing from wireless devices.

E-mail
The library does not offer electronic mail accounts.

Display of sexually explicit images at any electronic device in public view in the library is prohibited and may result in loss of library privileges and possible civil or criminal penalties.
