Please be aware that there is a difference between placing a hold and requesting an interlibrary loan. Check the library catalog, before submitting an interlibrary loan request.

Hold

You may place a "hold" on library material that is available at one of the other public libraries in the Alaska Library Consortium through our shared online catalog. You have the option to have the material delivered to Wasilla Public Library via our courier service. You will be emailed or called when the requested material arrives. Please call us at 376-5913 x0 if you need assistance with placing a hold.

Interlibrary Loan

For material that is not available at any of the public libraries in the Alaska Library Consortium, you may request an "Interlibrary Loan." Interlibrary Loan is a service that gives us access to library materials outside of our network including other Alaska libraries and even libraries in the "lower 48." The form to request an interlibrary loan is available at either check-out desk of the library or you may submit an online request using the links below. For questions about interlibrary loan, call 376-5913 or email to waslibill@ci.wasilla.ak.us.

Before you submit a request, please review the following guidelines:

  • You may have up to three items on order at one time.
  • We do not accept request for items that have published/released in the current year. However, you may request that the item be purchased for the library. You may submit a purchase request here.
  • Requests are mailed, so they may take up to 2 to 6 weeks to arrive.
  • Please notify the library if you no longer need the requested item.
  • You will be notified when the item arrives. Please pick it up promptly. Items not picked up within 7 days will be returned to the lending library.
  • The loan period is usually 2 weeks with the possibility of one renewal. Items must be picked up and returned to Wasilla Public Library
