In January of 2022 a new law regarding ATV/APV use in Alaska went into effect. These new rules do not effect ATV/APV use within the city limits of Wasilla.

The City of Wasilla has supported the ability to allow off road use within city limits and continues to do so.  However, in recent years the Wasilla Police Department has seen a marked increase in the use of off-road vehicles (ATV's, dirt bikes, dune buggies and snowmobiles) within the city limits.  We have also received an increase in complaints to the department about the use of off road vehicles within city limits.  With the increased use, there is a larger number of riders who have failed to recognize that there are rules within the City of Wasilla regulating the use of off-road vehicles.
