Backflow Prevention
The purpose of City of Wasilla Backflow Protection Program is to protect the public water system against actual or potential cross-connections, backflow by backpressure and backsiphonage. This is done by isolating within the property, contamination or pollution that has occurred or may occur because of some undiscovered or unauthorized cross-connection on the property.
Eliminating cross-connections, backflow by backpressure and backsiphonage on any source of water used for any purpose which may affect the safety of the water supply and may endanger the health and welfare of the public.
A backflow prevention program that includes provisions for inspection and maintenance to ensure compliance may be found in the Wasilla Municipal Code 13.04. Additional information may also be found in the Uniform Plumbing Code.
